Of course I have tested it out for myself and have data to back it up. It is also common knowledge on the BT site.
If any of those threads on there are not sufficient enough evidence for you then I will supply you with my own info and back it up with screenshots of players with training info and pop times from AtStumps although the umpteen threads on the BT site should be more than sufficient.

@ Dean - I'm assuming you have tested that out yourself and have data to back it up. If you have, I will gladly change the data on here

@ Ashish - no - the data is correct, you just happened to train him when his consistency was high - almost at the respectable level. I'm pretty certain that he didn't pop the following week, or for a few weeks more.

What exactly do you mean by increasing a whole level ? Do you mean maybe an increase from competent to respectable ? If yes then your data is inaccurate. I promoted a 20 year old player from the youth academy and trained him for only 1 week ( bowl + field ) and his consistency increased from competent to respectable. ( your data says it takes 6.3 weeks ).

@selvam - The training intensity has since been removed - I will update the site ASAP. This was the news snippet from BT last year :- Over the last couple of years, the way that PFL works in Battrick has changed considerably, including the the removal of the concept of team fitness. The Training Intensity feature was originally given as an option to combat fatigue, but most advice to new users was to set it to 100% and then ignore it. Latest figures show that for managed teams, that 80.6% of you had done that, with 97.5% having set it at 90% intensity or more.

As such, this no-brainer option is not applicable any more. We're removing this feature and everyone will effectively be on 100% training intensity, regardless of what value is inserted into the Nets page (until it's removed).

Ok, slightly off topic, but I'm fairly new to battrick (second season) and I've just hatched a new 17yo, who has some excellent stats, both batting and bowling..!

Do people think that it is worth keeping him and focussing training on him, or try to sell him on for a nice profit and pick up a couple of older/cheaper players to get my team going?

You are totally wrong with your advice to Besty.
A WK net, on its own or in combination with others, improves both Cons and Cons at the same rate as a fielding net does.

I am a bit shocked that you do not know this.

@ mobihead - if you have spare nets, then maybe put one on an older player. I've only ever done it to improve secondaries and once they've gone up a few levels then I've stopped. I wouldn't buy a player whos secondaries are so far behind i.e 5 levels or more (unless they were an absolute bargin)

It's the same as just training the primary. Training the wicket keeping will not improve the Concentration any faster, unless there is a fielding net added
